Description
The yellow tones in this pair of boat artworks by Liz Clayton are the real secret of their success. The sparingly used bright colour adds a touch of sunshine to the sails and frames of the repeated shapes, highlighting their fine details and textures. Despite the impressionistic approach to the forms of the craft, the viewer can tell exactly what they are – a testament to the artist’s use of colour in the works.
