Astrozap Light Shroud for 16″ Meade LightBridge Truss-Tube Dobsonian

Description

AstroZap Light Shroud for 16″ Meade LightBridge Truss Dobsonian

The Meade 16″ LightBridge delivers serious aperture in a portable packagebut its open truss design also leaves it vulnerable to stray light, dust, and dew. The AstroZap Light Shroud transforms your LightBridge into a high-contrast, light-tight observing machine by sealing off the optical path between the primary and secondary mirrors.

Made from a durable, stretchy nylon blend, this shroud is breathable to prevent trapped heat and dew, yet opaque enough to block intrusive light from nearby sources like street lamps or the Moon. The elastic-sewn openings hug the upper and lower OTA sections securely, keeping the shroud tight and free from sagno clips, ties, or fuss required.

Double-stitched seams ensure long-lasting durability in the field, while the fabrics moisture-resistant properties help reduce the risk of fog or condensation. This is an essential upgrade if you observe under anything but pristine skiesor if you simply want to protect your optics from dust and debris between targets.

Features:

• Designed specifically for the 16″ Meade LightBridge truss-tube Dobsonian

• Blocks stray light and increases contrast for deep-sky observing

• Breathable, moisture-resistant stretch fabric allows air circulation

• Elastic ends provide a snug, sag-free fit around both mirror cells

• Double-stitched seams for durability during transport and use

• Folds flat for compact storage in your gear bag or case

Observing Tip:

Large truss-tube Dobs gather tons of lightbut they also gather ambient glow from ground lights, your neighbors porch, or even your own red flashlight. A good shroud like this doesnt just block that lightit also helps dark-adapt your eyes faster, making faint galaxies and nebulae pop like never before.
