Astrozap Light Shroud For 14″ Astro-Tech At14Rct Truss-Tube Ritchey-Chrtien

Description

AstroZap Light Shroud For 14″ Astro-Tech AT14RCT Truss-Tube Ritchey-Chrtien

Block Stray Light and Protect Your Optics Without Adding Bulk

The AstroZap Light Shroud for the 14″ Astro-Tech AT14RCT Ritchey-Chrtien telescope is a must-have upgrade for truss-tube owners looking to improve contrast, reduce stray light, and protect their optics from dust, dew, and thermal interference.

Custom-sized to stretch snugly over the open truss section of the AT14RCT, this shroud is made from high-quality black nylon fabric thats lightweight, breathable, and opaque. It wont trap heat or sag into the light path, and the material resists moisture while shielding the optical system from wind-blown dust, bugs, and ambient light pollution.

The stretch-fit design installs in seconds and folds easily for storage between sessions. Whether youre imaging or observing, the light shroud enhances contrast and stability without affecting tube balance or collimation.

Key Features:

• Custom Fit for Astro-Tech AT14RCT: Precision-sized for 14″ Ritchey-Chrtien truss-tube telescopes

• Lightweight Black Nylon Fabric: Blocks ambient light while allowing airflow

• Improves Contrast: Reduces glare and light scatter in the optical path

• Protects Optics: Helps guard against dust, insects, and dew intrusion

• Stretch Fit Design: Secure, sag-free coverage that wont shift during use

• Made in the USA: AstroZap quality built for the field or the observatory

Compatibility:

Fits the Astro-Tech AT14RCT 14″ Ritchey-Chrtien truss-tube telescope. Not compatible with solid-tube models or other truss designs outside the AT14RCT geometry.

Observing Tip:

Light shrouds are essential when observing or imaging from urban or suburban locations, where ambient light from buildings, vehicles, or neighbors can scatter off exposed optics and lower contrast. Even in darker skies, they help maintain thermal stability by reducing airflow across internal surfaces.
