La Jolla (LAJ) Sectional Handleset w/ Square (SQU) Lever & Rose
Function
|
Single Cylinder Keyed Entry: A single cylinder handleset features a keyed lock on the exterior and a thumbturn on the interior to unlock the door. The exterior typically includes a thumb plate, while the interior is equipped with either a lever or knob. Single cylinder locks are most commonly used for securing residential or commercial entry doors. |
|
|
Double Cylinder Keyed Entry: A double cylinder lock is keyed on both sides, requiring a key to lock or unlock the door from inside and outside. It offers enhanced security, making it more resistant to unauthorized entry, and is often used on doors near glass to prevent tampering if the glass is broken. Double cylinder locks are ideal for high-risk areas, providing added protection and key consistency. |
|
|
Full Dummy: A full dummy set is designed without a latch or locking mechanism and is typically used as a decorative pull on the inactive side of double doors. This set includes both the interior and exterior handles, offering a seamless look. For a complete double door solution, pair it with a passage or keyed handleset. |
Handing
Door Handing:
Handing required for half-dummy levers, handlesets with lever interior, split lever styles (including knob with lever), and split lever finish orders.
To determine the handing of a door:
- Facing the door from the EXTERIOR, locate the location of the hinges.
- If the hinges are located on the left side of the door, the door is left handed (L).
- If the hinges are located on the right side of the door, the door is right handed (R).
