Keep your corrector plate clear all night long with this Thousand Oaks Dew Heater Strip, designed specifically for 7″ to 8″ Schmidt-Cassegrain and Maksutov telescopes. Whether you’re observing in humid summer air or chilly winter nights, this full-aperture heater strip helps prevent dew formation before it startsquietly and effectively.
This 1″ wide by 30″ long heater strip wraps securely around the front cell of your telescope using a smart combination of Velcro-backed material and an integrated elastic strap. The Velcro tab at one end fastens directly to the strips backing, allowing the elastic band to pull the heater tight against the tube for consistent, even warmth.
The heater strip connects via a 4-foot RCA-terminated power cord, compatible with all Thousand Oaks control units and most other standard RCA-style dew controllers.

Power Requirements:
Draws 1.87 amps at full power. (Typical draw will be lower depending on controller setting and environmental conditions.) Connects to any 12V dew controller via RCA-style plug.
Usage Tip:
Install the heater strip at the start of your observing session and set your controller to a low power level. Preventing dew is far more effective (and energy efficient) than trying to remove it after it formsespecially on the large glass surfaces of an 8″ SCT or Mak.
