When a cutting edge becomes dull, you just need to rotate the insert in the holder to use the sharp edge. “V” shaped inserts provide a sharp shape, ideal for finishing to semi-finishing applications. Negative inserts provide a strong cutting force for heavy-duty applications. They have cutting edges on both sides for twice the life compared to positive-rake inserts. The VBMT inserts are carbide, which provides longer tool life and can run faster than uncoatedinserts.
