Astrozap Dewshield Meade 16″ SCT, White Finish Aluminum

Description

AstroZap Aluminum Dew Shield for Meade 16″ SCT White Finish

If you’re running a Meade 16″ Schmidt-Cassegrain, you’re at the helm of a serious observatory-class instrument. But with all that aperture comes an equally large corrector plateand a large target for dew. The AstroZap Aluminum Dew Shield for the Meade 16″ SCT is built to match the scale and precision of your setup, delivering rugged, long-term protection against dew, stray light, and thermal loss, all with a clean white powder-coated finish that blends seamlessly with professional installations.

Crafted from lightweight yet strong aluminum, this shield maintains its shape and durability even in extreme conditions. The interior is lined with black felt, which acts as a light trap and slows down the radiative cooling that leads to dew formation on the corrector plate. A Velcro-backed closure strip allows for secure installation without tools, and the rigid structure ensures the shield wont warp, sag, or droop over timeideal for observatories or permanently mounted rigs.

This model is custom-fit for the Meade 16″ SCT optical tube and is an ideal solution for both visual observers and imaging systems needing uncompromising protection in a permanent or semi-permanent environment.

Features:

• Made for the Meade 16″ Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescope

• Constructed from powder-coated aluminum in a white finish

• Black felt-lined interior blocks stray light and slows dew formation

• Rigid, durable structure resists warping and sagging

• Velcro-backed fastening strip for easy, secure attachment

• Ideal for observatory setups, large imaging rigs, and professional installations

Observing Tip:

For large, observatory-class SCTs, dew shields do more than stop moisturetheyre essential for maintaining contrast and thermal stability during long imaging runs. A rigid aluminum shield like this is a must-have in humid climates and light-polluted environments alike.
