Astrozap Meade 12″ SCTs, Flexible Black Plastic

Description

AstroZap Flexible Dew Shield for Meade 12″ SCT Black Plastic

Your Meade 12″ Schmidt-Cassegrain is a deep-sky powerhouse, pulling in faint galaxies, planetary detail, and crisp lunar views with ease. But all that aperture comes with a catcha large, exposed corrector plate that cools quickly and attracts dew just as fast. The AstroZap Flexible Dew Shield is your first and most essential line of defense, helping you observe longer and with sharper contrast, even on humid nights.

Made from durable yet lightweight black plastic, this shield wraps securely around the front cell of your 12″ SCT and fastens in place with a Velcro strip. Inside, a black felt lining traps ambient light and reduces thermal radiation loss, slowing dew formation and boosting image contrast. Its a simple, affordable, and highly effective upgrade for any 12″ SCT owner.

Whether youre observing from your backyard, a dark site, or a roll-off observatory, this shield rolls up for easy transport and delivers professional-level performance wherever your scope goes.

Features:

• Custom fit for Meade 12″ Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescopes

• Made from lightweight, flexible black plastic

• Felt-lined interior reduces dew and suppresses stray light

• Velcro closure for quick, tool-free installation

• Rolls up for compact storage and travel

• Improves optical contrast and extends dew-free observing time

Observing Tip:

Large-aperture SCTs are especially prone to dew, often fogging up in under an hour on damp nights. A dew shield like this one dramatically reduces the risk, and when paired with a heater strap, youve got a near-impenetrable defense for all-night observing.
