Astrozap Meade 8″ LXD55/75 Schmidt-Newtonian, Flexible Black Plastic

Description

AstroZap Flexible Dew Shield for Meade 8″ LXD55/75 Schmidt-Newtonian Black Plastic

The Meade 8″ Schmidt-Newtonian on the LXD55 or LXD75 mount delivers wide-field performance with sharp optics and fast f/4 speedperfect for deep-sky imaging and visual observing alike. But with that large, exposed corrector plate at the front of the tube, dew buildup can bring your session to an early end. The AstroZap Flexible Dew Shield offers lightweight, reliable protection to help you stay focused and fog-free longer.

Made from durable black plastic, this dew shield wraps around the front of your scope and fastens with a secure Velcro strip. The felt-lined interior acts as a dual-purpose light trap and thermal insulator, reducing both dew formation and ambient glare from nearby lights or the Moon.

This model is custom-fit for the 8″ Meade SN-8 optical tube and is designed not to interfere with focusers, tube rings, or finder brackets. It rolls up easily for travel, making it the ideal addition to your grab-and-go or imaging rig.

Features:

• Designed specifically for the Meade 8″ LXD55 and LXD75 Schmidt-Newtonians

• Flexible black plastic construction is lightweight and durable

• Felt-lined interior helps suppress dew and block stray light

• Velcro closure for quick, tool-free installation and removal

• Rolls up for compact storage and portability

• Boosts image contrast and extends observing sessions in humid conditions

Observing Tip:

Fast Newtonian designs like the SN-8 are fantastic for capturing nebulae and wide star fieldsbut their corrector plates cool quickly, drawing in moisture. A flexible dew shield like this can dramatically improve your observing efficiency while protecting your investment in optics and collimation.
